Short version: Imposter Doodle is a pass-the-phone party game you play offline. We don’t make you create an account and we never ask for your name, email, or contacts. We use a few standard third-party services to process purchases, understand how the game is used, measure our marketing, and fix crashes. The Game does not currently show in-app ads, and we do not sell your personal information.
Imposter Doodle (“the Game”) is developed and published by Midnight Snack Games (“we”, “us”), the data controller for the purposes of this policy. Contact: hello@midnightsnack.games. Our postal contact details are available on request by email.
We do not knowingly collect real names, email addresses, precise location, photos, or contacts.
Basic daily totals. Our promotional page counts page loads and store-button clicks independently of optional analytics consent. A small counter hosted on Cloudflare stores only the UTC date, a fixed campaign group (our launch campaign, other campaigns, direct visits, or testing), the event type, and a running total. It does not use cookies, browser storage, visitor identifiers, fingerprinting, or cross-site tracking. Our counter does not store IP addresses, browser details, full URLs, referrers, or individual event records. Cloudflare necessarily processes network information to deliver and protect the service; see Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy. We delete daily totals older than 90 days. These totals measure activity, not unique people or installations. Browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals disable this counter too.
Our promotional page at midnightsnack.games/imposter-doodle/ uses Google Analytics only after you choose “Allow”. It records page views and clicks on the App Store and Google Play buttons, together with campaign labels, referring site, browser/device information, and approximate region. A store-button click alone does not tell us whether you installed the Game. We do not send names, email addresses, advertising click IDs, or arbitrary URL parameters to this website stream. Google processes network information to deliver the service; see Google’s Privacy Policy.
If you allow analytics and arrive through a campaign-tagged URL, the store buttons use AppsFlyer attribution links. These pass the campaign source, campaign name, channel, and creative label; AppsFlyer also receives network and browser information when you follow the link. AppsFlyer can use supported store-referral and attribution mechanisms to associate a later first app launch with the campaign. Results may be incomplete or aggregated, especially on iOS; a first launch is not the same as a download. We do not include names, email addresses, advertising click IDs, or website visitor identifiers in these links. See AppsFlyer’s Services Privacy Policy. Before consent, after declining, or when your browser sends a no-tracking signal, the buttons go directly to the stores.
Analytics cookies are configured to expire after 30 days. We store your consent choice locally in your browser. Advertising personalization and Google signals are disabled for this website tag. Choose “No thanks” to keep optional Google Analytics and AppsFlyer links off, or change your choice through “Analytics settings” on the promotional page. Declining removes this site's Google Analytics cookies; basic daily totals remain active unless your browser sends a no-tracking signal. The website respects Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals. Store links work whether or not you allow optional analytics. These website choices are separate from the Game’s in-app analytics setting.
Where GDPR applies, we rely on: performance of a contract for providing the Game and processing/restoring purchases; your consent for analytics and, on Android, marketing attribution that uses your advertising identifier — which you may withdraw at any time (see “Your choices” below); and our legitimate interests in crash diagnostics, security/fraud prevention, and improving the Game. We do not use the iOS advertising identifier. Website campaign-link measurement requires your website analytics choice, as described above.
We share limited data with providers who process it on our behalf: Apple App Store and Google Play (purchases), RevenueCat (purchase management), Google Firebase / Google Analytics (analytics & crash reporting), and AppsFlyer (marketing attribution, including install source and advertising identifier where permitted). For EEA/UK users, transfers outside the EEA/UK rely on adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses with supplementary measures where required. Each provider handles data under its own privacy policy.
We do not sell your personal information. We may share advertising identifiers with AppsFlyer to measure our own advertising where permitted; where California law (CCPA/CPRA) treats sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising as a “sale” or “share,” California residents may opt out by emailing hello@midnightsnack.games and by disabling ad tracking in your device settings.
The Game is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn we have collected personal information, including persistent identifiers, from a child under 13 without required consent, we will delete or de-identify it.
Local data remains on your device until you delete the app or clear its data. Purchase records are kept as long as needed to provide and restore purchases and to meet tax/accounting obligations. Analytics, attribution, and crash data are retained only as long as needed for measurement, fraud prevention, and debugging, after which they are deleted or aggregated.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date on this page.
